Our Third Annual Sports Breakfast

Dear Parents,

The Third Annual Cougar Sports Breakfast was held yesterday with more than 300 students, parents, siblings and coaches in attendance.

Those attending enjoyed an amazing breakfast-including sports-themed cupcakes and strawberries- prepared by our very own Cougar Café chefs and staff.

Our Keynote Speaker, Mr. Richard Bernstein, an attorney and advocate for the rights of the disabled who has been blind since birth, provided our students and parents with an inspiring message about overcoming adversity. Mr. Bernstein spoke about his personal  experience as a marathon and triathlon participant, as well as his work on behalf of the disabled, including working with the Israeli army to include disabled young men and women in army service.

Mr. Bernstein received a standing ovation from the overflow crowd as he was presented with an array of Cougar  paraphernalia to be taken back to his home state of Michigan.

Following the Mr. Bernstein's remarks, Dr. Stein recognized the student athletes and coaches of our 27 teams and acknowledged the important supporting role all parents play in ensuring their children’s regular participation in our athletics program.

We look forward to welcoming you all at next year’s breakfast.

Cougar Sports Breakfast

The Frisch School Third Annual Cougar Sports Breakfast will take place at Frisch on Sunday morning, April 29th.  You will be receiving your formal invitation in the coming days.  On that day, we will recognize our many sports teams, players and coaches.  We are very excited to have Richard Bernstein as our Guest Speaker.  Mr. Bernstein is a Civil Rights Attorney, Community Advocate and Marathon/Triathlon Athlete.

Frisch is proud to field more than 25 sports teams as part of our athletic program, plus several intramural teams open to all students.  Recently, we held an impromptu celebration “Frisch Paints the Town Red” for the entire student body in honor of our girls' junior varsity and boys’ varsity championship basketball teams.

You can watch our championship highlight videos, created by members of our teams, below:

The Frisch athletic program is an excellent venue for our students to interact with students in other grades.  Friendships are forged through participation in these teams that often last a lifetime.  Several of our alumni have returned to Frisch as coaches of our teams.

Whether you have a child who participates in our sports programs or simply enjoys being a spectator at our games, we would like you to consider becoming a sponsor of this annual breakfast.  Sponsorship will give you the opportunity to show your gratitude to our sports department while raising much needed funds for our sports programs.  Funds raised will be put toward enhancing our indoor and outdoor sports facilities.

Visit donate.frisch.org to show your support for our athletic program.  All sponsors will be acknowledged in our Sports Breakfast program.

We look forward to greeting you at the breakfast as we acknowledge our student athletes.
Sincerely,

Dr. Kalman Stein, Principal
Elaine Weitzman, Executive Director
